Private label chocolate in the UAE: how to launch your own chocolate brand

· Ghaf7

More cafés, hotels, gift shops and first-time founders in the UAE want chocolate or dates under their own name. You do not need to build a factory to do it. Private label manufacturing lets you own the brand while a manufacturer develops and produces the product for you. Here is how it works and how to prepare.

Private label or white label?

The terms are often used interchangeably, but there is a useful difference:

  • White label usually means an existing product sold under your brand with minimal changes, such as your logo on a standard box.
  • Private label means a product developed or adapted for you: your own fillings, shapes, packaging and positioning.

White label is faster to start; private label builds something competitors cannot copy easily. Many brands begin with one and move to the other.

Questions to answer before you start

  • Who is it for? Hotel guests, corporate gifting, café counters or retail shelves each need different formats.
  • What price point? Your target shelf price shapes ingredients, packaging and box size.
  • Which products? Bars, bonbons, stuffed dates, gift boxes or a mix.
  • How much, how often? A first run and an expected reorder rhythm help a manufacturer plan.
  • Where will it be sold? Retail sale usually brings labelling requirements that need to be planned from the start.

From idea to shelf

  1. Discovery call: your brand, market, price point and quantities.
  2. Product development: recipe, fillings and mould options.
  3. Samples: taste, adjust and approve.
  4. Packaging: design and specification for your label.
  5. Production: made and packed under your brand.

Custom moulds and private fillings

A custom mould turns your logo or a signature shape into the chocolate itself. Private fillings, such as a cardamom ganache or a date and nut centre, give your range a taste that belongs only to you. Both take extra development time, so raise them early.

Freshness is a feature

At Ghaf7 we produce to schedule rather than holding long-term stock, and nothing stays on our shelf longer than 14 days. For a private label range, that means planning production around your sales rhythm.

What to send us

Share your brand idea, the products you have in mind, an estimated quantity and your timeline. Minimum order quantities, lead times, shelf life and labelling are confirmed in a written proposal after the discovery call.
