How to plan wedding trays and chocolate favours in the UAE
Wedding trays and chocolate favours are one of the first things guests notice at a UAE wedding or milka, and one of the last things couples finalise. Planning them early makes the difference between trays that feel designed for your day and trays that feel ordered in a hurry. This guide walks through the decisions in the order we find works best.
1. Start with the occasion, not the product
Before choosing chocolate, decide where the trays will be used. A majlis tray for close family, a hall table for several hundred guests and a favour box that guests take home all need different sizes, materials and quantities. Write down every moment where something sweet will be served or given:
- Engagement (milka) or wedding reception
- Majlis and family visits before and after the wedding
- Favours for guests to take home
- Gifts for the bridal party and close family
2. Choose the tray material
The tray sets the tone before anyone opens it. In our showroom we group trays into four families:
- Glass and crystal: light and elegant, they let the chocolate do the talking.
- Leather: hand-finished, often kept long after the event.
- VIP trays: the fullest selection of chocolate, stuffed dates and sweets, for majlis and senior guests.
- Clay and ceramic: a warm, traditional way to serve dates and chocolate.
Many couples mix materials, for example leather for the majlis and glass for the hall.
3. Match your colours and theme
Chocolate colours, wrapping, ribbons and boxes can all follow your wedding palette. Bring a fabric swatch, an invitation or a photo of your flowers when you meet the team. Names, initials and the date can be added to the chocolate or the packaging, depending on the design you choose.
4. Count guests realistically
Estimate favours from your confirmed guest list, then add a margin for unexpected visitors and family who drop by in the days around the wedding. For trays, think in terms of tables and majlis sessions rather than individual guests.
5. Plan backwards from your date
Everything should be made fresh, close to the event, so the timeline matters more than ordering early and storing. A simple sequence:
- Fix the date, venue and guest numbers.
- Choose tray materials, chocolate selection and colours.
- Approve the design and the quotation.
- Production close to the date, then delivery or collection.
The busiest wedding months fill quickly, so contact us as soon as your date is set. Production timing is confirmed with your quotation.
6. Think beyond the trays
Flowers arranged to match your trays and live stations such as a chocolate fountain or coffee bar can turn dessert into part of the celebration. If you want them, mention them in your first request so everything is planned together.
